Jalops, what to do with used tires?

All four are still roadworthy, but I've since upgraded.

So, what to do with extra rubber? Is there a market for used tires?

Post them for sale for $10 each? Recycle them?

Tire fire?

I've got four suggestions.

1. Sell

2. Make tire planters out of them

3. Tire swing

4. Give to a race track for tire barriers

If they are good tires, there is a very low market on CL for them. If there is no market, bring them to NTB and give them $3 each, unless your town DPW will take them.

I have a 'home side business' doing tires. We picked up a used rim clamp machine and high speed balancer. I generally ask everyone to leave $12 for tire disposal, then when I have a pile of 15-20 I drive them over to NTB and depending on who is there, might have to pay $3 each. If you get to speak with the right person (sometimes the manager), you may get them taken for free (since they get paid for them anyway).

That's a different setup than in Canada. In Canada you pay $4.00 per tire at time of purchase as an environmental fee aka disposal fee. therefore every single used tire in the country has had this fee payed already for so you can just drop them off at the dump for free. I think this is a better way of doing it because I was tired(see what I did there) of people leaving tires in the ditch or dumping them in construction sites for others to pay the fee to clean them up.

This way if you end up with a bunch of tires you just bring them to the dump no fee's attached.

The GM is trying to get a franchise QB, yet there wasn't one available. They think that it's better to patch the tire this year than to replace it. I'm not really a fan of that strategy.
